What is Liberty?

By: Michael Richards
Liberty is more than a simple ideology. It is a science of human action and faith. It encompasses the topics of theology, economics, politics, and sociology. Liberty comes in one of two forms. The first form is of an earthly liberty. It is the freedom to own property, to serve God, and to live life in peace, justice, and love.It is a freedom where those who serve others the best are rewarded by those whom they serve. The second form of liberty is a spiritual liberty. It is liberty from sin which keeps us from the blessings of God. This second freedom comes free from Jesus Christ through His sacrifice on the Cross.  The first form of liberty by contrast comes at a price. It is an obligation that man is held accountable to one another through their actions and behavior. It requires courage, wisdom, and faith in God. Freedom is not just a personal right which each man is given. It is an obligation from God to not sin against others and to recognize Him as the Supreme Authority over all the Earth and not another man or anything else which was created by Him.
